Mr. Lewis student taught at WMAA in the fall of 2015 while he also began coaching soccer. His first year of teaching included stops in public and other charter schools before returning to WMAA to end the 2016/2017 school year. This will be his second full year teaching at WMAA and Mr. Lewis couldn’t be more excited to return home.
Mr. Lewis grew up in South Haven and participated in soccer, basketball, track, and the NHS. He did his undergraduate studies at Calvin College majoring in Integrated Science Education and minoring in Biology.
Mr. Lewis has always known he wanted to be a teacher and coach. His favorite part of both is getting to know each student and building a relationship with each of them. In Mr. Lewis’ class students will truly experience science. While they are becoming real scientists they will learn valuable skills such as problem solving, persevering , and calibrating.
In his free time Mr. Lewis enjoys coaching, playing soccer and watching movies.
